Windows 7

I am running windows 7 64 bit system.   I had to reinstall the hp printer driver .  In fact i have reinstalled it 3 times.   It will not let me scan using the Hp solution center.   It sends me a message that tells me that a file is missing DocProc.msi.   I have searched for the file where it is suppose to be located and i cannot find it on my computer.   Where can i download this file to my computer and set it up so that i can scan using HP solution center?

Hello,

Please try the below steps..

If you had downloaded the printer software from www.hp.com, then try the below steps...

go to RUN, type in %TEMP% and hit OK to display the TEMP folder.

Search for folder name 7z.. and open the  folder name setup and then open the folder name  docproc . Right click on the docproc.msi file and install it.

If you had installed the printer software using the CD that came in the box, then try the below steps...

Open the CD content, open the  folder name setup and then open the folder name  docproc . Right click on the docproc.msi file and install it

Hello,

Please download the printer software using the URL http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4132&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3911...

Save the installation file on desktop. After the downlaod is complete, run the file to begin the installation. When the welcome screen shows up you may then terminate the installation.

After which try the steps as mentioned before.

Jabzi

It did not work.   It said that i was running a version of windows that does not support this file.   I am running Windows 7  64 bit program..   What i need is to find out how/where to get the DocProc.msi file.   It is not on my computer anywhere.   Thanks for the information and directions.   If you can tell me where to find this file i would greatly appreciate it.

I went back and looked at the operating system that i had selected.   I   selected windows 8  64 bit.   This was a Miss selection.  I have since gone back and selected windows 7  64 bit system and followed your instructions.  I downloaded The driver to my hp officejet 7310 to to my desk top.   I then reinstall it from the desk top.   It did not contain the DocProc.msi file and i am still in the same position needing the DocProc.msi file.

Hey there @wdoow ,

I came across your post and wanted to stop in and add my suggestion to what you've tried already.

Check out this document and try the steps it lists for your OS:

Resolving MSI Startup Errors

Check under the section that states " Fixing MSI errors for non-HP software "

"If errors persist, you can clean up the MSI registry entries by using Microsoft's automated solution. For more information, see Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled (in English)."

Good luck Smiley Happy
