I have tried all the troubleshooting advice but still no print. All the print cartriges were replaced but still only colours and no black printing. It started after a long printing job were the black ran out and when replaced it wouldnt print. Can somebody please help?

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! :smileyhappy: I see you are running into some print quality issues on your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4625, you are unable to print in black ink.

 

You have completed the steps listed here: Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, with no success.

 

Please note: There are three printhead cleaning stages. Complete all three stages if necessary. If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last (third) cleaning stage to start the first stage of the cleaning process over again.

 

I suspect the issue may be the printer and not the cartridge. I highly recommend you call our technical support at 800-474-6836, I trust they will be able to assist you regardless of the warranty status. I just wasted half a day troubleshooting the same problem. I tried all of the recommended steps as well, but in the end I solved it by doing a hard (OOBE / Out Of Box Experience) reset. You can do this from the service menu by pressing the following button sequence on the front of the printer: HOME, BACK, HOME, HOME. I suspected that the problem was software/firmware related based on my testing. Printing black text was not visible at all, either via the reports from the printer itself, or printing a document from my PC. I then created an image with big solid black bars on the page (say 5mm wide). The black bars did print with crisp clear lines, but they were very light grey in colour - barely visible.
