When I am printing out of Printmaster, the typed words (in black) appear as white letters with a black background. The print preview looks fine. Printmaster support says print preview is under print master control but the print command is under the control of the printer. They suggested up to date driver--which I have. Printing out of Word or Excel, etc  is ok. I suspect

Printmaster but no luck with their support.

Hi! @roffy, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand when you print using print master the typed word appears in white instead of black.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Have you tried printing using a different application? Does the issue persist?

Try the steps recommended below.

In the Printer application, disable "Print in grayscale" if selected, click on the "Advanced" button and make sure that the "Negative" option is not selected.

If you can't deselect "Negative", change the Color option from Composite to Composite Gray, for example, deselect Negative and change Color back to Composite.

Click OK to confirm and you can select "Print in grayscale" again if necessary.

If the issue still persists try uninstalling the printer software from the root on your PC and install the latest printer software.

1. Navigate to Start >Type Devices and Printers in the Search > Select it from the results

2. Highlight your printer object and Right Click

3. Choose Remove Device

4. Highlight something else from the list

5. Click the Print Server Properties button from the toolbar

6. Select the Drivers Tab

7. Highlight the appropriate print driver

8. Click Remove

9. Check the Remove Driver and Driver Package option when prompted

10. Click OK

Update the printer software using windows built in drivers.

Refer this article to know how to install printer software using built-in drivers.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.

I hope you have a great day! 🙂

I appreciate the attempt to help, but doing everything you suggested did not solve the problem. I called my local support tech and he signed on to my pc and eventually gave me a work around, but did not solve the problem.

Strangely, Printmaster was able to correctly print any other color than Black. Makes me wonder if the black ink cartridge is the culprit, but all other print jobs using black print fine!

??????

@roffy, Thanks for your generous response and time.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned the black ink will print on all another print job except the print master.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the application and check if the issue persists.

Have you tried installing the print master on a different PC and are able to print in black?

I'll watch you reply!

Cheers! 🙂
