LaserJet Pro M125nw
iOS

My LaserJet Pro M125nw does not appear in the WiFi setting of my iPad running iOS 9.3.5.   I have the printer connected wirelessly through a router.   I downloaded and installed the HP software on my MacBook.  It works well.   The apps on the iPad print through Apple's software.  For those reasons I know that the printer is connected to the network.   But the HP A/O app instructs me to go to the Wifi setting in iOS, and the printer never appears in that setting.   What to do?

Hi @RGilpin,

Thanks for the post.

I see your printer is not getting detected on your iOS device. Glad to help.

Are the printer and the iOS device on the same network?

Our printers run only on 2.4Ghz network, if you are using a dual band router, request you to give different names to 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks.

Connect the printer and the iOS device to the same network.

If the printer is still not getting detected, check the wireless setting on the printer to makes sure broadcast SSID of the printer is enabled.

Shut down the router, printer and iOS device.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the router ON, wait for a minute.

Turn the printer ON, wait for a minute.

Turn the iOS device ON and search for the printer.

This should help you find the printer on your iOS device.

Refer to this article for assistance.

Let me know how it goes.

I do not know for sure if my router is a dual-band, but I expect not, because, when I open settings in my various devices, I see only the one network.

I am confident that the router is not the problem, because the MacBook connects through the network to the printer.

Thanks for the reply, most dual band routers by default give the same name for both the networks, hence request you to check the router settings.

Also, did you restart the devices in the order suggested in my earlier post? Also, check for updates from Apple and App Store for HP AIO Remote.

Keep me posted.

Finally I found time to follow the procedure.  I turned off all the devices.  I left them off for several minutes.  I started up the router.   Later I started the HP printer.  Much later I turned on the iPad and the iPhone.  Neither iOS device shows the printer in its Wifi setting.  And the printer driver still appears as usual in the Printer-and-Scanner Preference of the MacBook.   Would it make a difference that I have an Airport Express connected by Ethernet to the router?   All the computers are wirelessly connected to the router rather than the Airport.

Thanks for the reply and giving me that valuable information. Please do connect the iOS device to the router instead of Airport Express and check. The printer and the iOS device need to be on the same network (router) for communication.

If your computers are connected to the router and able to communicate with the printer, I am sure the printer also is connected to the router. Please connect your iOS device to the router while printing and then you can connect it back to Airport Express.

Let me know if this helped.

The iOS devices are connected to the router.   I mentioned the existence of the Airport only because I did not know if it was NOT important.

Thanks for the reply, recommend you to turn Airport Express off and restart iOS devices and check if the printer is detected. Please check the wireless settings on the printer. Make sure SSID broadcast is enabled. Refer to page number 105 in the printer manual. Please do check for application updates and software updates on the iOS devices.

Keep me posted.

It appears that the M125 does not accept Airprint.   I have downloaded HP's ePrint.   I have not yet tested it in actual operation, but it appears to connect properly with the M125.

Thanks for the reply, glad that the printer is responding now. Please do to test the printer and ePrint app and revert for any assistance.
