Hi @Chrisfromthebuc,

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! 🙂 Good day.  I read your post about seeking assistance with duplex printing. I will be delighted to assist you here. 🙂

Stupendous diagnosis and spectacular analysis of the issue before posting.  Kudos to you on that score. It is always a privilege to work with technical specialists like you. 🙂

We greatly value your relationship with HP. You are a valued HP customer and we appreciate you greatly for doing business with HP. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.:)

Please visit this link for information on duplex printing in Mac. It gives very useful information. Link for duplex printing: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8710/8720/8730/8740-All-in-One-Printer-series/7...

Please try these steps also.

  • From Word, click the File menu, then select Print.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the product model to see all available settings.

Click the lowest selection box - Copies & Pages

Select Layout from the drop-down menu.

Set the Two-Sided option as Long-Edge binding (Portrait), or Short-Edge binding (landscape).

You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset.

This solution has been given by an authority on forums ShlomiL who is a community expert and this has been accepted as a solution by several others.

Hope this helps.  Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanksplease click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂

Tried it and id did not work, I even saved it before trying. Still prints single sided only. I am lost on what to do. It is like it is a word bug

@Chrisfromthebuc

It looks like you were interacting with @DavidSMP, but he's out for the day

And I'll be glad to help you out.

The Riddle_Decipher is at your service,

I have a few tricks up my sleeve:

The user account named ”root” is a superuser with read and write privileges to more areas of the system, including files in other MacOS user accounts. The root user is disabled by default. If you can log in to your Mac with an administrator account, you can enable the root user, then log in as the root user to complete your task.

Click here to find the MacOS article that should help you use administrator privileges to print via ...

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
