HP Officejet 6000 Wireless

I am unable to get the duplexer to work. The duplexer is installed properly. The printer properties confirms that it is installed.  When I attempt to print, there is no option for automatic two sided printing. The manual says to "activate" the duplexer by simultaneously holding down the red arrow and the network buttons but the 6000 Wireless does not have a network button.

Any one know how to help?  Thanks.

Ok,

We so see some progress and now know that the hardware is functioning correctly, the issue relies within Word or its settings..

Do you use the Word dialog to set the two-sided printing?

From Word click on File > Print and ensure the correct printer is selected.

Click the Properties / Settings button to access the Printing Preferences page.

Open the Layout tab, can you see the option to print on both sides?

If so try configuring it and print the document,, then check for any difference.

If you experience any issue, please clarify it as detailed as possible, e.g. the options are not listed for duplex printing, the options are listed and selected but will not take a place?

Also try a new empty document and check for any difference to deny a document issue..

Finally I would suggest ensuring that the Word Document size is A4 or Letter, an unsupported size as example may prevent duplex printing.

Please let me know of any change, as well as the results if the issue persists.

Hi,

What operating system you are using?

Please check the following document, I believe that should help resolving the issue:

Thanks for the response.  However I have done all of those things (Windows 7).  Still no option on the print menu for  two sided printing.  😞

What application you are printing from?

Have you tried printing from any other application?

Under Control Panel > Devices and Printers, how exactly the printer icon appears? what is its exact name?

By right clicking the printer icon and selecting Printing Preferences, what options would you see under the Layout tab?

Well isn't that interesting?  😉  I AM able to do auto two sided with a PDF but not a Word document...  Hmm.  Now what would you suggest?

Thanks.

Okay.  Here's what I've done to get the Word doc to print two sided.  If I print it from the documents file, it's fine. Two sided, although it prints without a preview so I just have to hope it's good to go.  🙂  If I try to print it after I've opened up the document, no option for auto two sided printing comes up through file, print.  I can live with this!  Thank you so much for your help!
