officejet pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Scanning for the first time. The setup is asking me to enter a SMTP server name. I have no server. Using my wireless network router. Went through troubleshooting steps. Got it to show email addresses I want to send scans to but when I attempt a scan it again calls for an SMTP serveer name. I'm not connected or using a server! Help!

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP forum.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

 

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8710-all-in-one-printer-series/7902...

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

 

How are you trying to scan? Were you attempting to setup scan to email?
