I have had a laserjet cp1025nw for over a year. I have just started getting a mispick error with the red triangle blinking after every print job. I unplug the printer and reset it and it goes away. Then when I print another job it comes right back and will not print. I have changed paper, I have reloaded the paper and I have checked and rechecked the settings. The problem continues to occur. Now what. THis isn't a cheap printer and I sure haven't had it very long.

Hi @drpeggy ,
I see that you are experiencing paper mispicks. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
Printing a Configuration Page.
I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue.
'Out of Paper' Error Message Displays and the Printer Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper.
Update the printer's firmware only by a USB connection please. Just to rule that out. HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Color Printer Drivers.
Please check your private messages for additional steps to try.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Have a great day!
Thank You.

I have printed a configuration page and I have tried all of the steps in the link you provided. It picks up the paper fine for the first print job and the triangle light appears.
The restart works as long as you are willing to do that every single time you complete a print job. Not a very efficient option.
The firmware is not exactly the same, but the additional features in the update have noting that will help with this issue.
The OS is Windows 7 and the printer has been fine for 18 months. Not a very good life span. If I have to take it for service I will have to decide if it is worth it to spend the money or get a new one. Trust me, it won't be an HP.

Thanks for providing that information drpeggy.
It sounds more like a communication issue. Since after restarting the printer it will actually feed the first paper through.
You mentioned that after unplugging the printer and resetting it, it will print one page again.
Do you mean a power reset or the printer's Nvram reset I sent you in the PM?
If you haven't updated the printer's firmware, please do.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Load at least 10-25 sheets of paper in the printer. Use 20 to 24 lb paper.
Make sure the paper type is set to plain paper and not defaulted to unspecified paper in the print driver.
From the application, go to File, Print, Preferences, Paper/Quality and select the paper type and size.
If you are still having issues, it could be a hardware issue with the printer or the paper sensor.
Let me know how you make out.
Thank You.

Firmware has been updated. When I try to update the driver the installation software keeps asking me to uninstall the product - which I do not want to do. Everything was set to print except the wireless. I printed another job and the paper mispick light is back on and the printer will not print.

Hi drpeggy,
The only other thing I can think of, is to try running a cleaning page through the printer a few times.
Cleaning the Paper Path and Exterior.
