Hi all..

I have been having this problem for quite some time now, but now its got to the point where i cant scan anything now either.

If I try clicking HP Solution Centre, all I get is a popup saying  "parsing error in file c:\program files (x86)\hp\digital imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml"

I had a screen link so that I could use my scanner, but now it wont work, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling every HP driver & file that I can find, but am not getting anywhere.  Any ideas?

Im using a Toshiba Satellite C660D-1EN laptop, and can connect to my HP Officejet 6500A Plus (E710 n) By usb and through the network wirelessly.

Im using 64bit Win 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, with an AMD E-450 APU Radeon HD Graphics & 6 GB ram.

Its a works laptop, so reformatting would not be the best solution, although thats the way I would have originally gone.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Roy

Hi DavRao

Thanks for that reply.. Sorry I didnt get back to you until now, I ended up out on the road all week.

I had already seen the advice below on the first page I found during help searches, but I forgot to mention I had already tried it.

I have a disk, and a fresh downloaded copy of my drivers, but at no point could I find L4uninstall.exe

I also did not find the L1, L2, and L3 uninstalls that I have seen mentioned previously..

I found the uninslaller listed on HP websites, and runing it once have me stage 1, a second run was stage 2, then stage 3, then stage 4.

By now I had got desperate and tried everything i thought might help, removing all traces from startup entries and services in msconfig, uninstalling anything HP related, I even backed up, then deleted (out of desperation) the HP folders.

Nothing helped. Uninstall would start removing drivers, but just before it finished each time, it would start going backwards and wouls then give up.

I ran a system restore back to before I started tweaking options etc, just so everything was back to normal, but still not working..

Then downloaded and installed 'Iobit Advanced Uninstaller'    (100% Free to use)

http://www.iobit.com/advanceduninstaller.php

Used this to uninstall all HP references, and its first run used the regular unilstall sequence and failed, but then it gave me the choice of Forced Uninstall...

It gave me options to save/backup so that if things went wrong, it could be undone.. and it uninstalled everything.. Then cleared registry references and a whole lot more than I ever would have found manually.

after a reboot 99% of HP was gone..  I then used CCleaner   (100% Free to use)

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

This cleaned up any leftover cookies, abandoned registry entries etc..

I was over the moon...

Downloaded HP full software again, just to be sure I had the very latest, and ran it..

It was the same version I had tried frequently to install over everything I had been unable to remove, but this time, the stages and options were completely different, It was like my laptop had never seen a HP printer before, and was learning from new.

Installed perfectly, (with all update and shopping addons unchecked)

My scanner now works wirelessly over the network whish its NEVER done in nearly 2 years.

All drivers are up to date, where as before I could often see up to 10 versions of my printer all tagged with errors, even though the printer would work for basic operations..

Im happy now that im 100% cured..

All thanks to 2 bits of free software that I am now keeping hold of lol..

Hope this helps someone else with similar issues

Hello everyone

Please follow the steps below.

From Original installation CD:

1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer

2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. Run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

Enter your Printer Model and go to Software & Driver Downloads

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Type %temp% in the run field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

I also have the problem that when I click on "HP Solution Center" I get the message "parsing error in file c: \ program files \ hp \ digital imaging \ bin \ hpqscloc \ 1033.xml"

I followed step by step instructions as you suggested but my problem was not solved.
I use a printer "Photosmart Wireless B109 n-z" and Vindows 7

It may be useful to point out another small problem, perhaps related to the first.

When I click on START> Printer  it appears, along with the other, the icon of a printer "HP Deskjet 400" removed and uninstalled years ago. I tried but It is impossible remove it or erase it
Can anyone help me?

Hi..

Have you tried uninstalling it from 'device manager'  ?

If you unplug any extras from your computer.. any USB printers, memory sticks etc.. (Turn off any printers, expecially wireless ones)

Then open 'device manager'  (should be found in control panel)

Click the arrow next to 'Imaging Devices' and then right click any printers that are shown, and choose uninstal.

If you get a message asking about removing any left-over drivers, then make sure you tick that option also to delete all history.

All below software is free to use, but does have paid upgrades, so check you are installing the free versions each time..

If you dont already have it.. Install Iobit  uninstaller from.. http://www.iobit.com/advanceduninstaller.php

Use this uninstall to look for any leftover traces of your printer instalations (including the one your trying to install now)  There is also a Forst Uninstall option in this program, that will remove all trace of anything you wish to uninstall.

(If uninstalling from the device manager worked, then you may not find anything to uninstall here)

Also install Iobit Advanced System Care.. http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.php

Click Scan once this is installed and it will find all broken links, unused files and registry errors etc.. You will be given the chance to create a backup and restore point before anything is removed..

Once complete.. restart your computer (making sure all unnecessary usb components are still disconected, and any wireless printers are turned off)

Wouldnt hurt to now open iobit advanced syctem care again, run any updates, and then allow it to scan once more. (Reboot if anything new found)

Before connecting or installing any printer devices / software... download & install from HP.. the following help file

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&softwareitem=mp-122330-1

Run that software and follow any onscreen prompts, or any advice from the page you just got that last link from..

Only connect printers when prompted.. (Wireless printers always install better when installed as USB first, and then re-installed as Wireless, so please try with a USB cable first)

Hope this helps..

Roy

PS.. Iobit also has a device driver scanner and updater http://www.iobit.com/driver-booster.php (Also Free)

This will scan and offer updates for any devices that may be out of date..

(I do not work for Iobit, but have had so much success with all of their software that I have now upgraded to paid services, but still rely strongly on their free software for other peoples computers and am 100% confident in their operation)

If this helps, or if you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

Hope you had a great Christmas.. Best wishes for the New Year

I tried but it was removed only the image of Dekjet 400 but the problem with the "parse error" remained.
I checked and saw that in c: \ program files (86) \ hp \ digital imaging \ bin \ hpqscloc \ there is only the file "hpqscloc.dll" and there is no file 1033.xml.
So when I clic on "HP Solution Center" there is still "Parsing error etc.
Do you have any other solution?

Hi Robsotta

I will look further into this, but in the mean time, is it possible you have an old print jon trapped in the print spooler from your old printer.

(I know you removed it a long time ago, but the possibility of an un-finished job thats stuck & corrupt, will prevent the uninstall of the printer in use at the time)

Check the link below from another forum and follow the on screen instrutions to see if this helps..

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/89483-print-spooler-queue-clear-reset.html

Will look further into this when i'm home.

Regards

Roy
