psc 1410
Microsoft Windows XP

My printer prints as though it is out of ink.  I thought that was the problem, although it seemed odd both color and black would run out at the same time, and I had recently replaced both cartridges.  But I replaced them again and it still is printing very light, striped, faint copies.  I have cleaned the cartridges and the cartridge mounts but nothing changes.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are getting print quality issues on HP PSC 1410 All-in-One Printer. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

  • Check your printer settings.
  • Print a self-test page.
  • Note which cartridges printed which areas of the diagnostic page.
  • Look for defects.
