I purchased a brand new HP officejet 8600 Plus on friday and when I went to set it up when i got to work today which is monday. The printer did its start up and tried to do a print head alignment and i got a message on the display that reads Print Head Alignment failed. and it telling me to manually start the print head alignment in the tools menu at a later time. I have done this, I have cycled the power to the printer several times, I have reinstalled the print cartridges numerous time to no avail.

Hi Hawkeyec15,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand the printer is new and the printhead alignment failed.
I will be happy to help you.
I have provided a document for An 'Alignment Unsuccessful' Error Message Displays on the All-in-One
to see if we can resolve this issue.
I would recommend to contact HP Tech Support for further assistance if you are still having issues.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
Have a wonderful day!

So I have gone thorugh numerous posts and suggestions on correcting a printhead alignment issue. I installed a new printhead today that I purchased from HP. My old printhead was not passing yellow any longer thus the change. The unit printed fine prior ot the printhead swap and now no matter what troubleshooting I perform or links I follow from this forum, the thing will not align and everythign is printing slightly off ht eleft margin of the page.
Now the last step seems to be contact HP support but there are endless loops of pages butnone contain a simple contact number or chat session. **bleep**? Can I speak to someone in real time? I wouldn't think that I have to pay $9.99/mth for support on something I just received from HP.
