deskjet F2180

Hi!

My color ink cartridge finished and I bougth a new one, original. When I installed it and printed a page, the colors dit not corresponded to the ones I wanted.

I went back to the seller and they sent the ink cartridge to HP support to test, and it came back working fine. So the problem must be my printer.

I used HP software to clean and align the print cartridge, and none of the options solve this question.

What could be the problem? Is there something I can do to correct this (manually clean some part of the printer?)

I can say the blue colors appear fuzzy purple and red colors turned pink and green colors become blueish.

Can someone help me or my printer is broken beyond repair?

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the colors not printing properly on your deskjet F2180 printer.

Does the test page printed in step 2 appear correct?  From your description I would guess yellow is not printing properly.

Step two: Print a self-test report

  1. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
  2. Press and hold the Cancel () button and then press the Start Copy Color () button.

  3. Release both buttons. The self-test report prints.

It is very unlikely the dealer actually sent the cartridge to HP and had the same cartridge returned, that is just not the process for handling defective cartridges.  Did the returned cartridge have fresh nozzle tape covering the nozzles?  If not the cartridge would be prone to drying out in shipping.  I am also wondering if they sold you a genuine HP cartridge, your dealer does not sound legitimate.

HP cartridges do have a warranty, see the document here for information.
