printer keeps asking for photo paper when I am not printing a photo

Please respond to me with the following. If there are any steps here that you have not tried, please try them before responding and include the result in your reply back to me:

Which printer model do you have?
What is the Operating System of the computer?
Have you tested hardware functionality (made copies) and do they work successfully?
Have you tried printing from different programs?
Can you print?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
If you're running Windows, run the Print and Scan Doctor and include the results.
Do you see any error messages or codes, and if so, what are they saying and where do you see them?

Hello,

Most HP printers have the option to set default tray. Check Printer front panel (preference or settings menu) or software, see if your printer model has this feature. If it does, it may be set to photo tray now, then setting it to main tray may fix your problem.

Another possibility, when printing from software on your computer, check the paper size on print setting window. If photo size paper is picked in there, your file may be printed from photo tray

-HP Envy 7645

-Windows 7  (HP Pavillion)  Mozilla Fire Fox browser

- Copies work fine

-Word documents print fine

-Yes, I can print

- I have not tried reinstalling software

-  Ran Print and Scan Doctor. No errors or problems detected.

-I have seen no error codes or messages

Since my original message, I loaded 4 x6 photo paper as well as put 8.5 x 11 in main tray. Now when I try to print an email, it trys to print it on photo paper.
