Currently setting up this printer for the first time, and will not allow me to finish setup. Screen states "Printer Error - There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer Off, then On.

After  turning off/on 9,456,190 times, the problem remains. Help!

@JGANZ,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to setup your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer as you get an error message "Printer Error - There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer Off, then On".

This issue could occur if the cartridges or printhead are not installed properly or leaking.

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: 'Printer Failure' Message

Let me know how this works.

Also, let us know the operating system installed on the computer from the link: Windows Operating System or Mac Operating System

You have a good day ahead.

After turning off and on numerous times, and then attempting to pull the ink out to try to readjust, the ink cartridges are stuck on the right side of the machine, and will not move. Is there a way to move it so I can pull them back out?

Also, I was just able to record a series of letters/numbers that flashes for a brief moment before the error message. It is B8470B00.

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that the issue has not resolved after following the steps mentioned in the previous interaction.

This could be a hardware issue with the unit.

Hence, please contact HP Phone Support for further assistance at the link: www.hp.com/contacthp
