Hello,

I just started having problems with my HP Photosmart C410 series printer.

It is connect via a wireless router. I am running widows 8.1. I have alkready tried reinstalling the drivers.

It will stay on for a few minutes with no issues and then all of a sudden the screen goes blank and a blue screen pops up with an alphanumeric code and then all of the lights flash and I get the message indicated in the Subject. Code is

B86263FC

I have tried the solution of taking the cartridges out and putting them back in but it is still doing it. i can restart it and it is ok for another few minutes and then it happens again. I can even print until I get the error message.

The only change I made lately is I have installed a server on my router. But the printer was working fine for a few days even after that.

Thanks,

Trent

Hi Trent1974 and welcome to the HP Forum,

I understand that you are having an issue with the printer powering off. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.

I suggest Resetting the Printer.  The I recommend power cycling your network.

How to power cycle network
Follow these steps to reset your HP printer, your wireless router, and your computer.
1.Press the Power button on the HP printer to turn it off.
2.Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the HP printer.
3.Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
4.Turn off the computer.
5.Wait 30 seconds.
6.Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7.Wait 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready.
8.Turn the computer back on.
9.Wait for the computer to reload.
10.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the HP printer.
11.Turn the printer back on.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes.

Thank you,

I worked on behalf of HP.

Hi,

I have the same problem with my Photosmart C410b. I can connect it to my network wired and wireless and it runs fine. When I start my HP laptop is continue working fine. But when my girlfriend start her laptop (HP Envy6) I get this error message. When I reboot the printer and it goes into 'sleep' the error pops up.

I gave my router also a reboot but the problem still exist. When my girlfriend does not turn on her laptop the printer runs fine for days.. So the problem is her laptop, but I can not find why this is happening. It has the original software from HP that it came with.

I am having this same problem with my c410.  I have followed all steps listed above, including reseting my router, ethernet switch, and the printer multiple times.  The printer will work fine for about 20 minutes when it's first turned on.  After that, the front panel goes into a flashing fit and the display says to turn the printer off and back on again.  I've even disabled the network and used the c410 with the USB cable and get the same result.  I really like the printer and its features and don't want to replace it.  The firmware is current.

I have the same problem since a few months now, very annoying.

The printer (HP Photosmart C410) will work normally for a few minutes after it is turned on but then, without apparent reason, the small display will turn all blue with an error code (it flashes blue only one tenth of a second so I never could record it) then it turns white with the message "Please turn printer off and then on". So you turn it on again and after about 3 minutes you can print again (this printer has always been very slow to get ready to work) but only for a few minutes, it does that again.

The printer is linked to the home network with an ethernet cable. I have tried many things but the problem always reappears. I hope HP can help me with this or my next printer won't be an HP.

I found my problem. When the computer that was causing the error came online was running Bittorrent Sync. After unistalling the software the printer runs fine again.

Hi VHE,

It does make sense, I think the problem started after I first installed BitTorrent Sync.

That is unfortunate because this application has become an essential part of my backup strategy, I love it. I have to choose between the printer and BT Sync...

I will report this to BitTorrent and see if they have anything to suggest.

Thanks VHE !

Me again:

The problem was already posted on the BitTorrent forum:

http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/24807-bittorrent-sync-messes-up-a-network-printer/

The solution is there: disable UPnP in Sync by unticking the "Use NAT UPnP port mapping" setting in the "Preferences" tab, and/or specifying a different "Listening Port" both of which should help, if it's imperative that your printer remains with UPnP enabled.

I have tried that a moment ago, hopefully this will work.

Also thanks to you Robert for posting a fix and be able to run Bittorrent Sync. I hope it works for you, I have already switch to another Sync software but if that does not run to my satisfaction I will definitely try Bittorrent Sync again with your fix.

Hi VHE,

Sorry I was too quickly enthousiastic. I did uncheck the UPnP (whatever that is) in  BitT Sync of all three PC's  on the network but the problem with the printer still remains.

There is a post on the HP forum that claims disabling UPnP on the printer itself fixes the problem:

http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/24807-bittorrent-sync-messes-up-a-network-printer/

I will try that instead.
