Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

when printing, print page shows no printer attached to computer, yet control panel-printer, shows my 5740 as printer attached to computer.

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

 

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Hi,

 

Thank you for choosing HP forums,

 

I need some more details to understand the issue better, 

1. Printer install via USB or wireless 

2. Have you install full feature software for your printer on computer

3. If you have install via USB , how long is the USB cable  

4. If you have install via wireless, check wireless light on the printer is solid blue or flashing

5. Check whether you are able make copy on the stand alone printer
