Hp photosmart c4150 whether printing or scanning will have a dark vertical stripe approx. 1/4 page and approx. 1 inch in

diameter on the copy. I have deleted and re downloaded printer data. Solves problem for a short time and then reverts

back to stripe.

Hey there! @air777, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

I understand when you try to print or scan from your printer you are getting vertical stripes.

Don't worry I would like to help out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

As you mentioned you see lines on the copy too.

Print a self-test report

If the steps above have not helped, print and evaluate a self-test report to see if the cartridges or printer is causing the problem.
Load the paper tray with unused plain white paper.
Press Setup. The Setup menu displays.
Press the down arrow or the up arrow to highlight Print Report, then press OK.
Press OK again. The self-test report prints.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot Streaks or Lines in the Printed Image.

Have a great day ahead!

Take Care! 🙂
