How long was the printer sitting prior to you purchasing it?

It sounds like the Magenta that is in the new PH when you installed ran out and no new Magenta is being fed into the Printhead from the tube system.

This usually means you should try to Purge the ink in the Tube system so that newer ink can flow or replace the tube system.

I now use Syringes to pull ink through. Saves the cost of Start Up printheads.

Good Luck

The ink is delivered from Ink Cartridges (storage tanks) through a tube system into the PrintHeads.

Your issue could be related to the tube system.

There is a Service program that allows you to Purge the tubes (push ink through). To do so requires what are called Start up Printheads which catch the purged ink in tiny chambers for disposal.  You do not want to purge with the actual Printheads as you could/would damage them. Without a place to push the ink to then you would not have purged the tubes properly.

An alternative to the Purging is using a syringe to pull ink through the tube system.

There are Septums where the PH is inserted (small tower with silver top - inside is a gummy/rubbery seal)

you would insert the needle in through the seal and then pull up on the syringe drawing out ink.

There is a special Syringe, with a tip similar to that on a PH, that would insert into the septum. This comes with one of the Broken Bag recovery kits and would allow more ink through than a standard syringe tip.

Sorry I do not know a part number.

If anyone knows this Part number, they could chime in at this point.

I still have all my old printheads, do you think i might be able to put them back in and then purge? Or you still think getting the kit is better

I've never tried with old Printheads.

I know the printer will ask you to insert the Start up printheads, so it may not work if the printer recognizes actual Printheads in the slots.

Good Luck,

Hi,

Please remove the new printheads and insert the faulty printheads (which is not recognized, if possible block the chip or remove the circket from old printhead). Then try to perform.

I hope that answers will support to concern adequately. Let me know! Good luck
