Hello, how do you use the purge ink setting on the HP z3200? I see it in the advanced menu but when I try to use it nothing happens...and there's a lock icon next to it?
Manual says nothing about how to use it. I got a clog and need to use to purge some ink
Thanks!!!

You do not want to do that unless you actually do need to do that procedure. It is for removing air from the ink tubes and requires you to install a set of setup printheads to complete the procedure. Those are expensive for your model of machine and if you did start that procedure there is no way to stop it without completing it. Unless you are having air bubbles in the ink tubes you don't want to mess around with that. Also if you do have air in the ink tubes, after you complete the setup printhead procedure you will have to replace all of the printheads, as they will have air in them and reinstalling the old ones will just introduce air back into the tube system.

Thank you for the reply...
Problem is I got injured bad like a year ago so I wasnt able to upkeep the printer with me being on pain meds so it was left turned off for months, so i developed some clogs. And I knew I wasnt supposed to turn it off for a long time...idiot me
WHen I printed a diagmostic image, the Gloss enahancer was not showing any lines at all...and the Matte black was showing alot of broken lines and looking fuzzy. I replaced all the printheads and did more cleaning. The lines started to appear in the GE test image and the MB is slowly improving.
I did clean the capping station, there was some ink buildup.
Is there a good way to get get this printer back up without a service call...should I just keep on doing some head cleanings and test prints?
THanks!

I am not sure how you are doing printhead cleanings, but if you blot the bottom of the printhead on a soft cloth dampened with very warm/hot water and slide it back and forth is can clean the ink jets, I wouldn't use anything except hot water. I don't think the internal printhead cleaning procedure does much to recover them.
