Hello there, I've recently replaced my PC desktop , and it came with Windows 7.

I had XP before, and setup was quick and easy. But I cannot get it done now.

I've been trying for 2 hours, and I'm frustated!

"My Scans" folder is already shared and with full-control attributes.

Printer warranty is expired so I cannot count on HP Support...  Please help!!!

Hi jvmoretti,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand you are having issues with scanning to the network folder.

I will be happy to help you.

I would restore the printer defaults, setup the wireless again and run the setup wizard for the network folder again to resolve this issue.

On the printer's display right arrow to the Network Menu, select Restore Network Defaults.

Then setup the wireless again. Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or Wired (Ethernet) Network.

Print out a configuration page and type the IP address in Internet Explorer's address bar.

Run the setup a network folder wizard through there. Printing a Network Configuration Page.

I believe that this will provide a resolution to your issue. Thank you.

Hi Gemini02, thanks for your reply.

I tried evertythig you said, but I'm still getting the "Incorrect Credentials" error message during the Network Folder Setup test.

I also uninstalled and re-installed the printer, and still not being successful.

Now, I cannot even get to the Network Folder Setup page.

I don't know why it's so complicated to do it in Windows 7, when it was so simple in XP.

I hope you can come up with something else.

Thanks again!

Hi jvmoretti,

Sorry to hear you are still having issues.

I know this seems a little repetative but we just want to make sure and start from scratch.
Just to double check that this is the way you are doing the network folder setup.

Here are the steps:

Please turn off any firewalls and run the wizard from the

embedded web server. Make sure you are signed in as Administrator of the computer.

Step 1. Ensure that the printer is on your wireless network and the

            Embedded Web Server will load.

Step 2. Right-click the your desktop and in the ‘New’ menu, choose: ‘Folder’.

Step 3. Name the folder.

Step 4. Right-click the folder and in the ‘Share with’ menu choose ‘Specific People’.

Step 5. When the file sharing wizard comes up use the drop down arrow to select ‘Everyone’,

and choose ‘Add’ to the right. Change the ‘Permission Level’ to ‘Read/Write’.

Then Choose Share at the bottom.

Step 6. Next, right-click the folder and choose ‘Properties’. Go to the sharing tab and copy the         ‘Network Path".

Step 7. Open the printer’s EWS and choose the ‘Fax or Scan to Email/Network Folder’ Choose ‘Start    Wizard’ at the bottom for the setup wizard to begin.

Hope this helps.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Gemini02, Thanks for your quick reply.

I'm sorry, but I tried everything with no luck... It seems that the "Scan to Network Folder" doesn't like Windows7.

So, instead of giving up, I ended up installing the full software on all desktops and laptops and then setup the "Scan to Computer"... surprisingly, it worked out great!

Thanks again for your time trying to solve this issue. I hope I'll able to retun the favor some day.

Best Regards, Johnny
