One of my clients has an HP LaserJet 100 Color MFPP M175 PCL6 that has suddenly started printing a page every few minutes that appears a proxy connection status report?  How do I stop this?

Hi @Pattylee18 ,

I see that you are experiencing issues with the printer continuously printing out a proxy connection status report.
I would like to help.

I would do a hard reset to see if that clear out the memory in the printer.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

Please check your private messages for additional steps to try if the issue persists.

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

Have a great day!

I tried everything including what you and someone else said to do, and I also deleted the printer and reinstalled it and it's still doing it.  Even though it's wireless, I have it connected directly to the PC.  I don't know what else to do.  It says a lot of things on the printed page, but basically it's saying to keep proxy alive (I think).  Is there a way to turn that off?  We don't need to print wirelessly, and it's wasting a LOT of paper!!!  🙂

Hi Pattylee18,

Try turning the wireless feature off on the printer to see if that page stops printing.

On the printer, go to Setup, Network Setup Menu, Wireless Menu, Turn Wireless On/Off.

Are you signed up with HP Connected?

If you are still having issues, can you upload the image of the page so I can see what it looks like?

Thank You.

Hi Pattylee18,

I checked the manual and the wireless setting to turn it off should be in the section which I had provided. Please check again for this option. It is listed on page 11 of the manual. LASERJET PRO 100 COLOR MFP M175.

Please let me know how you made out.

Thank You.
