I have a hp laserjet P1007. I have dowloaded the driver to install it onto my lenovo desktop many times but i cant seem to get past the extracting stage. Its extracts but then no window opens afterward. I have a Windows 8 operating system what can i do? Can firewalls or something else be interrupting the installation of the driver???

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you are unable to install the drivers for your HP LaserJet P1007 Printer.
This issue could occur if the security software (firewall) may be stopping the installation or the print spooler service may not be running.
Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.
And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Cannot Install Printer Software (Windows)
You may also download the basic drivers from the link: Basic Driver
Also, I request you to delete the temporary files by following the steps provided below and then install the software:
1. Open Run box by pressing Windows + R keys
2. Type %TEMP% and press Enter
3. In the Temp directory, press CTRL+A to select all file and folders
4. While selected right-click any file/directory and select Delete
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.
