HP Envy 7640 all in oneprinter

I had to get a new HP Envy 7640 all in one printer.  Do I have to register again for the HP Instant Ink plan?

If your printer was replaced under warranty the old Instant Ink account would have been automatically cancelled. If your old printer failed but was not under warranty you will need to contact HP to cancel the Instant Ink subscription to avoid continuing charges.

You will need to set up a new Instant Ink account as described in the document here.

I exchanged the printer under warranty, so I am assuming the instant ink plan associated with the old printer was cancelled when I returned it or will I have to cancel it and register the new printer under a new instant ink plan. Or do I have to transfer the instant ink plan to the new printer?

The HP site here says "When HP replaces a printer under warranty, the subscription for the original printer is cancelled and removed from your Instant Ink account. Set up and re-enroll the replacement printer with your existing HP Instant Ink account, and then confirm that the original printer's subscription has been cancelled."

Go through the steps in the "HP sent me a replacement printer" section.
