i am trying to reinstall my office jet pro 8620. It shows up in my control panel programs but when I try to uninstall it I get an error code2203. When I use the disk to try to install it it will not install. My guess is I need to get the old program out of my computer first before I can reinstall it but it keeps giving me the error code 2203.
I tried buying a programs that said it would fix code 2203 but it did nothing.
Can you help me get this printer installed?

Hi Roger6969,
Have you seen this Microsoft Support forum regarding code 2203 - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/error-code-2203-when-tr.... It might help.
I would recommend uninstalling any current printing software for your printer (if necessary), and then go to https://123.hp.com/us/en/devices/OJPRO8620 to reinstall the software.
Let me know if this helps. 🙂

I need to know how to unstall my Hp Officejet Pro 8620. It gives me the Error code 2203, i want to reinstall the printer but cannot until I get rid of the old program which is not working.
Nothing I do seems to work to get rid of this Error?
You sent me how to get rid of it if I am installing but it will not let me install until I get rid of the old program.

Hi Roger6969,
Thanks for clarifying. Here are the steps to uninstall the software when you can't through the normal process. These steps might be highly technical, but they will help you remove the current software.
- Search Windows for run, and then select run from the list of results. The Run dialog box opens.
- In the Open box, type msiexec /unregister, and then click OK.
- Open the Run dialog box again.
- In the Open box, type msiexec /register, and then click OK.
- Try to install the printer software again.
- If the issue persists, and you have the MSI.MSI_BPD_Scan or 2203 errors, continue to the next step.
- If the issue persists, and you have the MSI.DOT4wrp or 2753 errors, skip to the step to temporarily enable full permissions.
- Search Windows for run, and then select run from the list of results. The Run dialog box opens.
- In the Open box, type regsvr32 C:\windows\system32\atl.dll, and then click OK.
- Try to install the printer software again.
NOTE:You must have administrator rights on the computer to make these changes.
- Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer.
- Click C: (or your hard drive).
- Right-click Program Files, and then click Properties.
- In the General tab, click the read-only check box to deselect it if necessary.
- Click Apply, select Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files, and then click OK.
- Try to install the printer software again.
- Search Windows for services, and then select Services from the list of results. The Services window opens.
- Double-click PML Driver (the name might vary, such as PML Driver HPZ12).
- In the General tab, click the drop-down menu for Startup Type, and then select Disabled.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- In the Services window, double-click Net Driver HPZ12.
- In the General tab, click the drop-down menu for Startup Type, and then select Disabled.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Open Windows Explorer or File Explorer.
- Click C: (or your hard drive).
- Double-click Windows, and then double-click System32.
- Locate the files HPZipm12.dll and HPZinw12.dll.
- Right-click each file, and then click Delete.
- Search Windows for util, and then select the util folder from the list of results. The folder opens in Windows Explorer or File Explorer.
- Make sure the folder is for the printer you are trying to install. In the address bar, you should see your printer model and software version, such as OJ6500vE709_Full_14.
- Double-click the ccc folder.
- Double-click the Uninstall_L3.bat file. The utility uninstalls the software and prompts you to restart the computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.
- Go to https://123.hp.com/us/en/devices/OJPRO8620, click Download, and then follow the on-screen prompts.
