Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

 I have a printhead that does not function. the scan function is blocked by error message.I s it possible to use scan function with no printhead.If can how? How to bypass error text? officejet pro 8600 plus

Welcome to HP Support Forum. Its main function is print, it is a printer on the first place therefore it will check this function first and stop when something missing even with one empty cartridge. Please read the following document
