5610 all in one
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My all in one was working well and scanning until i uploaded the new update software due to computer upgrade to 7.

the printer/fax /scanner works - there are no error messages - however the scan is poor quality very light.

i've tried increasing the resolution to the higest with still poor restults, i've tried with PDF and with TIF, and both come out very poor quality almost not readable.

i think this is somehow a software issue as i never had a problem when i ran it on XP..  can you help direct me to how to scan so that the copies are sharp and readable.

many thanks

MLSXA

Check the Brightness and Contrast setting in the HP Scan control, it's under "Advanced Settings".

thank you for your quick response - truly appreciated.

i checked under advanced settings and i dont' have a contrast setting for brightness.

i even checked under all the settings - i.e printer, fax, scanner - only the printer had the option to check settings for brightness..

any other suggestions - that was a good one, but didnt' work.
