OfficeJet J4580
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an OfficeJet J4580 All-in-one. It is connected to my PC with a USB cable. I have not used it for printing for several years. The cartridges are installed, but long since dried out. I have been using it just for scanning for many years. But now it has stopped working. It displays an error message that the cartridges are "missing or not detected". When I try to use it with Windows 10 HP Scan Extended I get a message that it cannot communicate with the printer. When I try to use HP Solution Center, I get a message that it needs Adobe Flash Player, which of course has been discontinued and withdrawn from the market.

Anyone know how to get around the "undetectable" ink cartridges or any other way to get this to work again as a scanner?
