Product: HP Envy 7640 printer
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I’m using the HP smart software version 12.8.0 on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) running

Catalina version 10.15.7. When I try to scan using the document feeder with my  HP Envy 7640 printer, it will feed the document in but, nothing shows up on the computer screen. I have tried re-starting the computer and re-starting the printer. Also have tried re-scanning the document about 6 times and get the same results, the screen shows blank and says “Add your content to the scanner and select Scan to get started”, like it hasn’t scanned the document at all.

Just noticed the problem after installing the HP smart software version 12.8.0. It scans to the scanner glass just fine, just not to the document feeder.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated..
