Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm trying to update the firmware in my HP Officejet 4632 printer.  I downloaded the .exe firmware update, but when I run it, it opens a window saying "select the printer you wish to update", and has my pinter listed below with an empty checkbox next to it.  When I click on the checkbox to 'select' the printer, nothing happens - the checkbox remains unchecked, and the update button below remains greyed out, so it can't be pressed, and so there's no way to proceed.  The only thing I can do at that point is exit or close the window, which means no update occurs.  I've tried running it numerous times, with the printer connected via wireless network and with it connected via USB cable... same thing every time.  Any ideas?

Thanks for accessing the HP Support Forums for extra support! I see that you are experiencing issues updating the printer's firmware. I would be happy to help you. 

 

Make sure all web browsers are closed when running the update.

 

If you haven't already, try restarting the computer and the printer and run the update again by a USB connection.

I restarted the PC and Printer, connected a USB cable, confirmed no browsers are running, ran the update firmware exe and same results - it finds the printer, puts it in the list (it's the only thing in the list), shows an empty checkbox next to it and says "select the printer you wish to update", but will not allow me to check the checkbox.  Everything remains greyed out.  I also tried from a different PC with same results.  IDK if it matters, but it shows the existing Firmware version as "MYM1FN1449AR", port as "USB002", status as "Not applicable".

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details. In the forum beside your handle name, just click on the envelope to view it.
