I do NOT have a landline or even a telephone jack in which to insert a cord to run to my HP printer. I am strictly online via direct WiFi and my blue light is on. However, no matter what I do, I can still NOT send a fax even though the literature I've read says I should be able to do so. I have been working on and off to remedy this for a full year. I am able to use all othHelp, please.

You can't send a fax if you are on wi-fi direct and have no telephone line.

For sending faxes you need to have a printer connected to a telephone landline or connected to the internet to send e-fax.

Then, why does the literature say you can? I also talked to a rep last year who said yes, it's possible but that wifi had to have 2.4 GHz (not 5 Ghz).... The box my printer came in said it would fax without landline; otherwise, I would not have purchased it.

Have you said to rep last year you are on wi-fi direct? That's crucial information.

To send a fax you need to have a landline connection or printer connected to the internet wirelessly.

Check the user manual to see the difference between wi-fi direct and wi-fi (access to the internet).

If you are on wi-fi direct you can't send a fax.
