Basically I have the ? showing on left side - home icon not showing and the printer has been setup but I cannot access the HP Network Configuration Page.  when I look on my network setting it shows the printer but the status is inactive and I can see the printer when I print a document and select it but it still does not print.  Any help would be greatly appreciated - I have been trying to figure it out for a while now.  Thank

Hi @awalt30043,

Good Day! Thanks for stopping by the HP forums. I reviewed the post about the printer not working correctly and displaying a “?”. IT also does not show the network configuration page. I will be delighted to assist you with this. Smiley Happy

Superb description of the issue before posting.  Kudos to you on that score. Smiley Happy

You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. Smiley Happy

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.

  • Did this happen after a firmware update?
  • Did you perform a hard reset on the printer?

For starters, please try performing a hard reset on the printer.

Steps to do this can be found in this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8720-All-in-One-Printer-series/7902032/model/79...

Then check if this does the trick for you. If it does not, then please try to update the printer’s firmware. From this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8710/8720/8730/8740-All-in-One-Prin... and check again if this resolves the issue.

If it does not please check your private messages on HP forums for steps to perform a semi full reset of the printer. This will definitely correct the situation for you.

Do not respond to the private message but keep me posted on the same public platform as the private message box may not be monitored.

Hope this helps.   I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Smiley Happy  Please reach out for any issues and I'll always be there to assist you always. Smiley Happy

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. Smiley Happy

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. Smiley Happy
