Recently had a problem with deskjet 2050 j510 series where everything printed was blurry. I deleted the printer, made sure the driver and all other software were up to date, unplugged the printer from the pc, rebooted and then reinstalled the printer. Now, text and pdf files print without a problem but images will not print at all. Printer page test detected no problems. New ink cartridges readily aligned. I even cleaned the cartridges and the printer. Since it is the only printer I have, it is automatically set as the default printer. Neither pause ,cancel or work offline are checked. I could change all of my images to a pdf file but that is a ton of hassle and really shouldn't be neccessary. I have over 100 plastic canvas patterns to print. Oh, yes, my OS is Win7 with both 32 and 64 bit.
So, what have I missed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mahalo in advance

Hi there,
So just to clarify your print setup:
- You're printing jpeg files from Windows 7?
- What media format are you printing on?
- If you save the jpeg image as a pdf it prints fine?

Some of my files are jpeg's and some I accidentally saved as png or gif images... that is only because I fogot to change them . But, that is easily fixed as I can open them in PSP or other programs and save them in a different format. My problem stemmed wgen te print started to become blurry. I knew I neded new ink cartridges so I did that and the alignment was without a problem but it was still blurred. As I mentioned before, I went through the entire process of downloading the updated software, disconnecting the printer. turning the pc off and then reinstalling. When I did reinstall, I let the update do the automatic install so it chose all best parameters from what is on the pc. The process went without problems, everything tests that the printer is installed correctly and ready to se. As I said, anything that is just text or if an image is in a pdf file, it will print fine. An image in any other format will not print. When I pull up the 'see what is printing' box, it shows that the document is there and being printed---------except that it isn't . After a few moments, the program thinks that the printing is finished and deletes the document from the queue.
I have been using the same printer since I bought it and the pc in 2011. The system is Win7 home premium and I a few different programs that I can use to edit images (I have yet to find one that can do everything I want) and print from. The usual program just to pull up and print a completely edited image is the photo gallery installed with Win7. I even tried just right clicking on the image and printing from there with the same result.

Hello, I have the same problem. Unable to print images from the default windows photo viewer but can print text and other documents.
Running the HP print and scan doctor didint help.
If I paste the image into MS-Word and then print the printer works OK.
I'm guessing that maybe a Windows update has broken something.
Any help will be appreciated.
