Normally you would use an A to B connector, but that may depend on what Mac you have. Typically the flatter rectangle will plug into the computer and the loaf of bread shaped connector goes into the printer.
If you have a really new MAC it is possible you may need a USB C cable like this https://www.amazon.com/CableCreation-Printer-Compatible-MacBook-Printers/dp/B012V563B6/ref=sr_1_1_ss...

Hi @Paul7998 ,
Reading the specifications for Officejet 9015, it says should be USB CABLE 2.0
If you have an older MacBook with USB 2.0 ports.
you should get USB cable like this one >> https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/v7-usb-20-cable---6ft
But if you have a new Macbook then you sould use a USB-C type cable, like this:

Also,
Be aware that HP Plus printers require a network connection to operate, only after enrolling with a network connection (From Windows 10, macOS, Android or iOS device) you may use a direct USB cable to a computer:
https://www.hp.com/ca-en/shop/Product.aspx?id=1G5L3A&opt=B1H&sel=PRN
Below you may find the steps to setup an HP Plus printer via the HP Smart app:
HP+ OfficeJet printers - Setup Using HP Smart App (Android, Apple iOS, IPadOS)
HP+ OfficeJet printers - Setup Using HP Smart App (Windows 10, MacOS)
Also, be aware that the printer is supported on 10.14 or later versions, as you mention you use 10.11 you would need to update your operating system to a later version first to install and use HP Smart, or you may try completing these steps from another supported device, then try adding the printer as AirPrint on your Mac and check if that may works, else an OS update would be required, including the steps to add an AirPrint printer:

You may find the printer specifications listed below:
