When I print envelopes from my Mac on my Officejet Pro 8720, the printer prints the front of the envelope completely black.  How do I get it to print the information on the envelope?

Greetings @JerrySledge

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing a print quality issue when you print on envelopes.

Not to worry, I will be glad to help.

May I know which application are you using to print envelopes?

Have you tried any other applications?

Have you checked the print preview?

Do you get the same tint when you make a copy on the printer?

Request you check the print preview before you print as the print will be like the way it looks in the print preview.

Please check the print settings and try different applications to print on envelopes.

Copy function of a printer is independent of the software on the computer.

If you are unable to make a copy, please do hard reset (disconnect the power cable of the printer, wait for a minute and connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn the printer ON.)

If the printer still does not make a copy after a hard reset. Please contact our phone support for the service or upgrade options for the printer.

For assistance in printing envelopes, please refer to the article below.
