No error messages, and other usb devices working fine. Only thing that is strange is in the device manager it says no drivers for this device, but in another area of the device manager it says all drivers for this device are up to date.

Have you tried to manually add the printer?

Load the basic XP printer driver under Vista and run setup in Compability Mode for XP SP2.
