Hi @trains,
Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see from the post that you are having issues installing HP Photosmart P1000 on Windows 10. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this,
I afraid your printer is not supported on Windows 10:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04658195
However, you could try to install Alternate drivers for your printer and check if this helps.
On your computer settings, go to Devices. Click on 'add a printer'.
Click on the writing which says "The Printer that I want isn't listed"
Choose 'add a local printer or network printer with manual set up'
Select 'use existing port' - On the drop-down list, choose USB001 virtual printer port
Select HP under the manufacturer heading
Select Deskjet 1220C (if it is not listed click on 'windows update' button and it will refresh the list and then the 1220c should be listed) I then installed the driver and made this printer my default printer and connected it to my Photosmart 1000 via the USB connection.
I hope this should help. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
