officejet 5470
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi My Brother inlaw purchased a officejet 5470 wirless printer, I have turned off the web printing function on the printer and connected to my wireless router.

I then install the printer in Windows 10 home and the printer drivers, I have been able to print a test page from my Surface Pro3 but when I go to use the printer again i get the printer needs attention.

I have also installed this printer on my Spectre x2 with the same result, please help before put a hammer through the thing. I have installed and tried other hardware such as my Asus desktop with all the same results.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue.

Can you please try to run the HP Print/Scan doctor?

You can download the HP Print/Scan doctor from HP website. It will diagnose and fix the problem for you.

Hi,

I receommned to do the following:

1.)  Uninstall the driver for your printer

2.) Shutdown PC and printer properly.

3.) On PC and Printer and install the printer driver again like setting up a new printer.

As you’re using Windows 10, it’s worth checking for the latest Microsoft update. On 12th April they released an update to improve the discoverability of printers when they resume from sleep mode. This update can help prevent occurrences of your printer going offline, especially for wireless connections

Try resetting the printer & checking the connection status (details in Step3 of the link below)
