Product: officejet pro 8620
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

At work,  I have a new HP officejet pro 8620 with wireless printing capabilities.  The desktop I would like to use it with is rather old and not wireless compatible outside of the work network.  I purchased a bluetooth device and installed it on my desktop, thinking that I could get the printer to recognize this.  No go.  The printer (also installed on my desktop) recognizes the wifi network here but not the bluetooth on the desktop and is not on the same network as the desktop.

 

The printer has not joined the same network as the desktop.  The desktop cannot access the network that the printer can access wirelessly.

 

I (incorrectly??) thought the bluetooth device would work to create a singular network between just these two.  Help?

Is the printer close enough that you could connect with USB?  The Officejet Pro 8620 does not support Bluetooth.
