I am having a problem similar to previous posts. My printer was working, but after a week of not being used now shows an ''incompatible cartridge'' error message for the genuine HP black cartridge. I tried all the trouble shooting, used HP print and scan doctor, checked drivers, and replaced with a new genuine black ink cartridge, but it is still showing the same message. I do not have instant ink. Thank you

I understand you facing a cartridge error.

  

If you have already performed the steps from the document Ink cartridge errors and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hi,

Did you get this sorted ?

I have the same printer, which was working fine, until I put a new cartridge in.

The machine came up with 'incompatible', so I bought another cartridge, with the same result.

I bought another cartridge from a different place, but still incompatible.

 

Like the rest of you, I need to get on with some work.   Where do er go from here ?

 

((my last printer was/is an HP Photosmart 5520, which stopped printing also.  Apparently it needs the parking area cleaning !  I tried that - to no avail.  I did it again - without success. Useless))

 

If I have to get another printer, I can't see it being an HP - do they care ??
