Envy 4500 only prints blank pages (from computer or copying)

I replaced a dead black cartridge with a new 61xl HP cartridge, and now it only prints AND COPIES blank pages.  It gets the command from the computer and feeds the right number of pages, but no printing happens.   I did all the un- and reinstalling on the computer, just in case.  The ink cartridges are full.  Tried using just the color cartridge.  Turned it off, unplugged it, went away, came back, all the same.  Hours of grrrrrrr, and I'm clearly not alone.  😞

Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
What are the ink levels?

What were the results of the Print Quality Diagnostics Report?

already did all of that.  HP 61 XL, full, tough to diagnose a blank page.  Guess I'm calling for a new cartridge, or just going laser.  Machine just over a year old, very, very lightly used--this is the first cartridge change, but out of warranty.  Grrrrr.

Ah, I was thinking you'd said to get a replacement "carriage"; I've already tried a different catridge with no help.  Called the phone # and they wouldn't help beyond warranty.  Goodbye, HP!

I'm having the same issue. Just over a year old and and it prints blank pages. New ink and it still doesn't work... Hardly use this printer

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Envy 4507 just out of warranty, been almost ok until now and suddenly not wanting to print anything that is not an ms office document. I've tried everything but still just get the paper feeding through and the print job dropping off the queue as though successfully printed. Also using brand new hp ink, never used non hp ink either. Up til 1am and still no further forward with the heap of junk. Muchos frustration.

I may have a fix for this.

I had the same problem with a PDF file also my HMRC tax return....try printing from  a different programme eg adobe reader or save it as a jpeg  picture then print from that.

I am also having the same problem with printing of blank pages.
I can't print word or excel pages, but I can if I save as a pdf and print through adobe reader.

I am having the exact same problem. How can so many people have the same problem and none of the 'fixes' work? The printer is more than a year old.  Very light usage as it is in a vacation home. Buying a new printer would probably be the same price as buying a new one. Always had good luck with HP printers ..... until now.
