My printer won’t work, when I first plugged it would just keep starting up over and over again, now its just blinking saying ERROR CODE 0XC9C70000, then at the bottom it says HW_GAUSS_CHIP. It won’t even turn off when I press the power button. I’ve tried plugging and unplugging it and taking out the power cord in the back, I don’t know what else to do.

Hello,

I think its a printer hardware failure, and printer need to be either replaced or serviced.

However you may try the below steps..

  1. While the printer is ON, unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
  2. Also unplug other cords like USB , Ethernet or FAX cord from back of the printer.
  3. Now power off the wireless router.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds.
  5. Plug in the power cord directly to wall outlet ( bypass the surge protector / power strip ) and then to the back of the printer.
  6. If printer does not power on automatically then press the ON button to do so.
  7. If issue still persists, its time to get the printer replaced if in warranty, or service the printer or go for a new one.
