Hello,
After days searching on Google, as well as five hours on the phone with HP, I am still left unable to use my printer. I need to reset the "administrator password" for the printer because my wife changed it when she setup the printer, but can't remember it, unfortunately. I am unable to complete the setup process via HP software/EWS with my new router (yes, I'm using the 2.4Ghz band). Even when I'm connected directly to the printer via USB, I am still prompted for the "administrator password". No, it's not my MacBook Pro's password, wifi password, "admin", "blank", etc. I'd really prefer to do a hard FACTORY RESET of the 3755 and start fresh. Thank you.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP DeskJet 3755 Printer. I understand that it is asking for admin password while setup and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Restore default wireless settings on the printer.
-
On the printer control panel, make sure the wireless light is blinking and the power button light is bright. If the light is not bright, press the power button to wake the printer from sleep mode.
-
If the wireless light is not blinking, press and hold the Wireless button
and the Cancel button
at the same time for 3 seconds.
The wireless light blinks. Repeat these steps if the wireless light does not blink.
-
Immediately continue to the next step to install the software. You have approximately 120 minutes to complete the software setup using the HP auto wireless connect feature.
Install the software and print driver.
- Go to 123.hp.com/dj3700, and then click Download.
-
After the software downloads, open HP Easy Start.
-
Click Set Up My Printer.
-
On the Terms and Conditions screen, click Accept.
-
On the Prepare screen, click Continue.
Figure : The Prepare screen
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

I have the exact same problem with a 3785. The steps described above don't work. When in the HP Easy Start app it will ask us for the admin password again and the printer's default password won't work meaning that this method doesn't reset EWS admin password. Any ideas how to reset it?
