Hi I dont know if anyone else has had this problem before , I have never seen it , Have tried all the tips that HP give but nothing works.
I am getting ERROR CODE 0X00829C98 HW WATCHDOG C on my printer screen
Computer says the printer is there but HP cant find it
my printer is only 3 months old so it isnt due to age
We had something going on in our area last night which is out of the normal with a police chase and police helicopter circling above our house, could this have caused it as was working ok before I went to bed
If any one can help that would be great

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I understand you are getting the error code 0X00829C98 HW WATCHDOG C,
And this, I assure you, has nothing to do with the helicopter above your house 😉 (That blink doesn't mean anything) 😉 😛
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted a hard reset of the printer?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE:
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Try to print. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.
Perform a firmware upgrade for your printer, using the steps mentioned on this link: https://hp.care/2CLF9Zo
Also, remove and reconnect the ink cartridges before you retry.
If the issue persists, please Contact HP to have the printer repaired or replaced:

I have to say this is the worst printer. I have never had so many problems with a printer. I paid a tech guy from Best Buy 85 dollars to fix it but it is still giving problems and I am unable to print. It's a brand new printer

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

This is a bad printer but I guess we get what we pay for. I can't figure out when you load the paper there is no piece to hold it in place. The paper easily slips back and when I print it makes a grinding noise. I have never seen a piece of office equipment, that loads paper, not have a device in back to hold it in place.
