Got my printer yesterday. Its an officejet 8015e.

Firstly its been a nightmare to set up but got there in the end last night.

I tried to print something today and Printer set up incomplete kept popping up. YouTube advised to turn off and unplug the printer, I have done that and when trying to print again. The same error.

Tried switching it off again via the button but the printer wouldn't swith off it was stuck on shutting down with the loading bar that runs underneath.

I unplugged the printer as it wouldn't shut off and tried to print again but it is stuck on cancelling and has been for over an hour...

I have cancelled all my jobs on the laptop but its still stuck.

Dont want to switch off or unplug the printer as a notification came up saying incorrectly switching off the printer might damage it.

Tried to diognise and fix but that hasn't worked either.

Any advice would be massively appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi @Ianorc

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer is stuck on canceling messages.

Try the below suggestions -

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
