Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help.
Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Not the OP, but also having this problem.
The problem is more that just a "rear door open," but that the message appears for a few seconds, then disappears and the printer sounds like it's trying to print a document (despite the fact that I am not trying to print anything) for about five seconds or so, then the "Rear Door Open" message reappears and the cycle starts all over.
I have tried the reset procedure listed here, which does nothing.
I have done a factory reset (twice), and both times anytime I try to do anything with the printer, it goes into this loop again.
The rear door is not, in fact, open, and is, in fact, latched shut as it should be.

Could be a piece of paper wrapped around the fuser. This is nearly impossible to see with the fuser installed in the printer.
