HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I spent over 2 hours last night 31 March 2022) with an HP tech.  Needless to say, after all that time, the red light on my brand new Deskjet 4155e still has the red light on on the information button.  I have a few days that I can return it. Plz help before I return it & replace it with a competitive printer that works, HP Smart tells me the printer is offline & won't print.  This is crazy & I am thoroughly ticked off as this issue affects my business..

Hi@bluemax_2667,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP DeskJet All-in-One Printer. The information light cannot be disabled, it is designed to remain on. Pressing the information button prints a printer information page. Printer Information Page provides a summary of the printer information and its current status

Are you getting any error message?

Are you able to make a copy?

Is the information light blinking?

Is there any other light on the printer blinking?

While you respond to that, try these steps -

1) Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
3) With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Wait for 60 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
5) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

There is possibility the printer is indicating error message from those alignment page after scanned.  Do ensure your print out Alignment page is facing the scanner glass with the leading edge against indicator corner of the scanner. Refer to photo attach.

Use these tips to help complete the alignment or remove the message.

Use clean white paper: Make sure the printer is loaded with unused, clean white paper, and then retry alignment.

Scan page if required: If your printer has a scanner, you might see instructions on the alignment page to place the page on the scanner bed and press Scan. Follow the instructions on the alignment page to complete the scan.

Choose 'Skip' to continue printing: If the 'Alignment Unsuccessful' message cannot be resolved, and you see a Skip button, you can choose to continue printing without alignment. Print quality might be affected.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
