Hello, @Pennyh47 – Hope you are well 🙂
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a wonderful place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel!
I see that you are having paper jam issues with your HP printer. Make sure to clean the paper rollers as suggested here: A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP PSC 1315, 1315v, 1315xi, 1315s, and 1318 All-in-One Printer S...
Once done, perform a power drain as suggested below:
- Remove the cartridges from the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Let me know if that helps!
Cheers 🙂

most likely it doesn't actually have a jam. the printer makes a sound like it is picking a piece of paper then repeats that sound like twice more?? your pickup roller is dirty and the printer can't grab a piece of paper. it will say paper jam when it does this. get a drop of dishsoap and clean the pickup roller of your printer with this. scrape at it with your fingernail to get the roller clean and wipe it off with a damp washcloth. when it dries if it feels a little sticky or tacky you have solved your problem.
to get to the pickup roller, take your tray out of the printer and tip it backwards.. the rubber roller you see needs cleaned. these pick up dust and toner and loose their stickyness that it needs to grap a piece of paper to feed it to your printer.
