Hi @key82kc,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are getting an error message on your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We need to perform a Semi full reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Can I get instructions on how to reset my printer to factory settings

HP Recommended

Hi @Dkjma,

Please follow the steps listed below for product reset:

1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. Now check the control panel display.

You may also upgrade the firmware from this link.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you very much for this quick feedback!

For my printer model, I'm not sure. It is listed as the HP Photosmart C4680 printer. But the user guide and my computer detects it as HP Photosmart C4600 All-in-One series.
My computer is the Acer Swift SF114-32 and I have Windows 11.

I tried to follow the help instructions and installed the "HP print and scan doctor" but it sends me back to the HP site without any further help... I also tried via Windows update to update a driver, an error message was displayed, and the update proposal never appeared again.
