I keep getting the message "error documents waiting," and the printer won't print.

@bullbull

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes to your printer?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Clear the Print Spooler:

  1. Turn off your HP printer, and then unplug it.
  2. Launch Run with the Windows key + R hotkey.
  3. Input services.msc in Run’s Open box
  4. Click OK to open the window in the snapshot directly below.
  5. Right-click the Print Spooler service and select the Stop option.
  6. Open File Explorer, which you can do by pressing the Windows key + E keyboard shortcut.
  7. Open this folder path in File Explorer: C:\Windows\System 32\Spool\Printers.
  8. Press Ctrl + A to select all the files in the Printers folder.
  9. Click the Delete button.
  10. Open the Services window again.
  11. Right-click the Print Spooler to select Start.
  12. Thereafter, shut down Windows.
  13. Plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

And, also Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
