Product: HP DeskJet 2632

Hello, I have been having issues with fitting the 304XL cartridges into my HP DeskJet 2632 which takes 304 cartridges. This is the last time i am going to try this before throwing the printer in the bin. Why should something so simple be so complicated? I have done everything suggested such as taking cartridge out cleaning contacts etc. unplug the power cord out and plug it back in. Every time the brand new cartridge reads as empty when clearly its full. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
